Although we were only to do two for this project, I found the shape of the picture just never "right" and yet I loved it all the same. The original picture is one of playful thought from my brother. It consists of three layers -- the original boy, the wing, and the background.
The first two were kind of bare to me, too simplistic and I was trying to get a dented tin image as if the subject had been dented into a surface. The Third one was actually my final attempt, with an aged look. Both #3 and #4 I was going for a more historic look, aged look. I always like the "aged color" look.
As I said, I was trying to get a more naturalistic paint look with a texture of canvas to give it a “was it painted or was it photographed” which are some of my favorite styles because it leaves the viewer guessing. I doubt I actually obtained that on any of my attempts but it was a fun process over all. Should have added a halo but then someone would point out just what the wing came off of then question the halo.
Overall, I like the third one which has less pixilation.

Nice start and I like that you explored so many variations! Great work. Please work on understanding image resolution and sharpness. I like the contrasty border you gave to the first one down.
